Bentley Mulsanne Key Celebrates Its Centenary

Bentley's custom coachbuilding division, Mulliner, has designed a unique key case to celebrate the brand's centenary. It is made from Dark Stained Burr Walnut with Piano Black Veneer and includes the flying "B" paperweight, keys, and an unreleased booklet with 1930s 8 Litre images.

Aesthetics

Design

In celebration of its Centenary, Bentley introduced a custom-designed specification called the Centenary Specification for vehicles built in 2019. The Bentley Wings are embroidered with Centenary Gold on the headrests as well as the seats and other parts of the car. This makes it more fun to celebrate. A custom Bentley key case is also included in the Centenary Specification, making the Bentley experience all-inclusive.
Function
The Bentley Mulsanne key features an opening button for the trunk and another which starts the car. It also has a button to activate the parking break. The knob can be used to fold or unfold the mirrors when parked in a tight spot. This feature helps you get into and out of your car.
Each key takes about two days to make. It is hand cut and shaped, then sewn, sealed and polished to provide an extremely high-end finish. It is small and sturdy and matches the Bentley key perfectly. Its design is similar to that of the Volkswagen Phaeton large car's key however it feels heavier and has a premium feel.
It also has Secure-A-Key, which helps prevent theft of keys that are keyless. This device is put into the remote control fob and then shuts it off when the key isn't utilized for a period of a few minutes. It stops thieves from transmitting the key's frequency to other devices that will allow the key to be opened and start the car.

The Crewe factory workers do not employ a machine to place perfectly matched leather seats. Instead they do it by hand. And rather than using the car's built-in sensors guide it into perpendicular and parallel parking spaces drivers must do it by hand.
During the event, Bentley displayed its Mulliner personalization capabilities using one of a kind - the Mulsanne W.O. Edition, which pays homage to the founder William Osler Bentley. The 100 limited-edition cars include a special key that displays a slice of the 1930 8 Liter's crankshaft.
